9 mos and growing...

this week will mark 9 mos since miss magoo entered into our lives. 9mos!! we are obsessed with this sweet baby girl.

shirt provided by our sweet friend sj

  • mb is into everything hb is into - this causes some issues with hb as he is possessive with his toys.
  • mb watches her brother like a hawk - she is hb's biggest fan
  • mb loves sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, yellow squash, carrots and everything fruit.  i'm still nursing her in the mornings - i love this time.  i was sharing with a good friend of mine this week about mb's spirit, her morning spirit is precious, happy, calm and full of joy.  i'm thankful that i get the extra 10-15 min of mom and mb time.
  •  mb is one of the most chilled people i know.  she doesn't get worked up unless she's hungry or tired. even then, she'll let out a cry, open mouth, insert thumb and bam! contentment.
  • she's our snuggler - i eat this up every.single.time
  • she's crawling around like a mad woman.
  • mb hates to be alone, she travels to where the action is at
  • she's wearing 9 to 12 mos clothes - little girl clothes are bad news for the wallet
  • giggles
  • has a love/hate relationship with her baths
  • sleeps through the night and takes great naps during the weekends

nb and hb - grilling out

miss magoo - these past 9mos have been a blast, i have learned a lot about patience, slowing down and taking everything in. since you've arrived, life is flashing before our very eyes. please.slow.down.

you bring much joy to our lives.  i love watching you and hb roll around on the floor playing with your toys. your dad and i were just talking the other night about how there are still times when i still have to pinch myself and remind myself that i'm a mother of TWO! we also talked about how much you and your brother bring so much to our family.

as events happen around us both trivial and serious, mb, i pray that the lord would cause you to gasp at injustice, the poor, and the hurting. i pray that he would stir up emotions that would demand action.  i pray that you love much and love well.  i pray that you show christ in all that you say and do. be kind to all.
you are absolutely beautiful both inside and out.  thank you for being you, you're pretty neat.

thank you for slowing down...

so lately i've been struggling with managing my time between being a good wife, a patient mother on top of being employed outside the home. then there are days like today that i get to slow down, get on the floor with my family and soak in "our" time.

emails can wait. dinner can start later. baths can be skipped.

mkb (8.5 mos)

hjb (2yrs old)

nmb (best dad)

this evening, i'm going to dance to a little taylor swift while my son throws a normal 2yr old tantrum. give eskimo kisses full of snot with my teething daughter. listen to my husband talk about disappointments he endured today and be the ear he needs or as our counselor likes to say, "jump in the mud puddle" with him.

i want to be conscious about being slow when it comes to my family and friends. as my dad would always say, "kimberley, life isn't a sprint, slow down, train for the marathon" well jkb, your words didn't fall on deaf ears - thanks for your wisdom.

things i digging right now
  • taylor swift, "red"
  • short caramel macchiato
things i want to try

  • pumpkin spice latte (5 years at sbux and still haven't tried one)
